Environmental Design

We had done the identity for the San Francisco Center For The Book around 2012 and at that time had proposed this typographic exterior wall. Funds were unavailable at the time of identity creation, but as soon as funds became available, they were excited to begin working to visually distinguish their building within a design sector in San Francisco. Working with a sign painter and the San Francisco Center For The Book, we completed the wall– which incorporates all forms of typography: numerals, punctuations, dingbats, and letters. San Francisco Center For The Book teaches about typography, calligraphy, and press proofing for a range o f graphic materials. Therefore, the directive was to combine what they did in inside the building with what was displayed on the outside.
